Crossed roller bearings

Crossed roller bearings can bear high loads. The X-arrangement of the cylindrical rollers means they transmit axial forces from both directions. They are particularly characterized by the fact that they absorb all load combinations in just one bearing point, thereby reducing conventional bearing points (a combination of a radial and an axial bearing) to just one bearing point. Spacers between the cylindrical rollers guide the rollers along their entire length and keep them at a distance. This guarantees that the rollers are not inclined and do not rub against each other, and ensures smooth and stable rotation even under preload.
