Tapered roller bearing - according to DIN616 or DIN720 / ISO 355
Tapered roller bearings have tapered raceways in the inner and outer rings, between which tapered rollers are arranged. The vertices of all conical surfaces meet at a point on the bearing axis. Due to their design, tapered roller bearings are particularly suitable for absorbing combined (radial and axial) loads. The contact angle α is crucial for the axial load capacity of the bearings; the larger this angle is, the greater the axial load capacity of the bearings. Spherical roller bearings can be manufactured as single, double and four row bearings in both metric and inch versions.
Single row tapered roller bearings can only accommodate axial loads in one direction. The force generated in the bearing by axial loads and acting in the axial direction must be balanced by an external counterforce. Single row tapered roller bearings are therefore placed against a second tapered roller bearing. The tapered roller bearings we manufacture have either a cage made of sheet steel or glass fiber reinforced polyamide 66. To ensure slip-free running, a certain minimum load must be applied to the tapered roller bearings, just like the other rolling bearings. The main dimensions of the bearings correspond to the information in DIN 616 or DIN 720 / ISO 355.
