Thin section bearing
Thin section bearings are highly precise, low-noise and extremely load-bearing. Thin section bearings are divided into 3 different designs. These are:
- C: Imperial and metric deep groove ball bearings (Thin section deep groove ball bearings)
- E: Imperial angular contact ball bearings (Thin section angular contact ball bearings)
- X: Imperial four-point bearings (Thin section four-point bearings)
- A: Metric angular contact ball bearings (Thin section angular contact ball bearings)
- X: Metric four-point bearings (Thin section four-point bearings)
Thin section bearings models
Deep groove ball bearing
Design C. A type manufactured according to inch dimensions. Series (AA - G) correspond to the cross-section sizes.
Angular contact ball bearing
Design E. A type manufactured according to inch dimensions. Series (AA - G) correspond to the cross-section sizes.
Four-point bearing
Design X. A type manufactured according to inch dimensions. Series (AA - G) correspond to the cross-section sizes.
Deep groove ball bearing
Design C. Special type of thin section bearings, cross-section size is part of the product name. Cross-section size from 2.5 mm (Ultra-Slim) to 20.00 mm
Angular contact ball bearing
Design A.Special type of thin section bearings, cross-section size is part of the product name. Cross-section size from 2.5 mm (Ultra-Slim) to 20.00 mm
Four-point bearing
Design X. Special type of thin section bearings, cross-section size is part of the product name. Cross-section size from 2.5 mm (Ultra-Slim) to 20.00 mm
Special features of thin section bearings
In addition to the designs, thin-section bearings are divided into so-called cross-section sizes. A special feature is that these cross-sections are extremely small, usually square and remain constant even as the diameter of the shaft or housing bore increases.
of the housing bore remain constant. The thin section bearings owe their name to these characteristics, which is why they usually have the prefix CS (Constant Section). Cross-section sizes are part of the type designation, which simplifies the indentification
of the type. For inch thin section bearings, cross-section sizes are indicated with letters (AA, A, B, C, U, D, F, G), whereas for metric types the cross-section size is indicated directly.
Example: Metric Thin section deep groove ball bearing
Thin section deep groove ball bearing with a bore diameter of 35.00 mm. S03503CS0. (The marked part in the designation provides information about the cross-section size).
Example: Imperial Thin section deep groove ball bearing
Imperial Thin section deep groove ball bearing with a bore diamter of 1" ≘ 25.40 mm. CSCAA010-TV. (The marked part in the designation provides information about the cross-section size)
Properties of thin section bearings
- have balls that are tailored to the series
- can be selected with a different cross section in order to achieve the desired load capacity (service life) for a given shaft diameter
- Series U are sealed on both sides. (Seals are made of synthetic rubber (NBR) with steel inserts)
- have bearing rings and balls made of rolling bearing steel (thin section bearings made of other materials are available on request)
- have cages made of brass or plastic (suffix TN)
- are delivered preserved (non-sealed Thin section bearings are preserved with oil, sealed Thin section bearings are delivered lubricated)
- under extreme operating conditions, are supplied with special lubricants
- are manufactured with different levels of precision (they have increasingly tighter tolerances in tolerance classes PL1 (standard), PL3 and PL6)
- have a radial bearing clearance and installation tolerances that are assigned to the tolerance classes
- are available as matched bearings (significantly higher rigidity and load capacity.)
